El Taco Tote: Authentic Mexican Cuisine in Tucson

Plenty of seating. Huge selection of salsas. Tortillas were homemade. I loved that I could order a baked potato with my tacos lol

The food was great with the exception of the chips …too hard to eat and I have good teeth salsa bar was great! slight language barrier! Dinning area a bit dark employees were polite we had the family player with chicken and rice and beans we had 2 tacos each with leftovers to take home not bad for $23 bucks. Money well spent definitely recommend it was our first time there will be returning in the near future!

Today was my wife and I, first time eating here! IT WILL NOT BE THE LAST! FOOD WAS EXCELLENT, SERVICE WAS GREAT, AND A BEAUTIFUL AND PEACEFUL ATMOSPHERE! ABSOLUTELY AWESOME

Employees were very friendly from the time we stepped through the door. I know nothing about Mexican food and I wasn't hungry so I just had a slice of the delicious cheesecake. My son has been to a couple of locations and again today he loved the steak tacos. We arrived just an hour after opening so it was still very clean, including the restrooms.

El Taco Tote doesn't inspire with either its outward appearance or its name. However, the food is pretty good. The first thing you'll notice is the dim lighting and the condiment bar. The condiment bar offers a wide variety of choices, five salas (the dark red is flavorful and smokey), cabbage, lettuce, radishes, cucumber, red pickles onions, cold roasted jalapeno peppers with grilled onions, and more. The flour tortillas are thin and good. There's a good choice of meats including shrimp. The shrimp and pork were very nicely spiced. Rice (Mexican, tomato) and refried beans were good. The iced tea is brewed and sufficiently strong. The cups are on the small size. You order at the cash register, take your numbered flag to your table, food is brought to you. My recommendation is to get a pork taco and load it up with cabbage and the dark red salsa - delicious. The shrimp is also especially good. They also offer fish tacos. Work through the cookie cutter look of the place and enjoy some good food.

Tortillas for the tacos good. I had barboca and carne asada. Rice awesome and the chips and salsa bar was fresh. Quesadilla and fries not a good combo my baby hated the fries.

Great place for happy hour. Lots of tv’s for sports and a pet friendly patio! Real tacos with fresh ingredients. Not fast food quality!!!
